CHARACTERS

I have an idea of all the main characters, just haven't fleshed them out. Hopefully by posting rough sketches, I can settle on a look, and consistent character design for them.

The main character works for a Chinese restaurant, and so far have drawn him to be (respectively) of a mixed background. I'm trying to not let race be a factor in the characters, and I have so many characters of other races and cultures in the story as well. He's a kind, generous kid (see, his buddy Chai even brought us extra spring rolls with our order!), a bit of a stoner and video game enthusiast. he loves his job, makes good money, and has an awesome girlfriend. All that changes though when the restaurant he works for decides to start using the Drone delivery program...

I know He has a friend and roommate that also works at the same place. A bit of a hacker nerd/ w a martial arts obsession....

DRONES & stuff

During the beginning of the story, I'd like to describe or montage some of the service automotons that already exist in the world today. Though the lead character sees them all the time, He's never fully aware of them until after things start getting bad.

                           I will show some sketches of a few of the machines in this section.

BURGER WAITER DRONE

For some reason I kept seeing the flying Drones in this South American art design, like a spirit bird of sorts, that may change later, but I keep drawing them like that. Which is weird because the story is a bit about the separation from nature, but I make the machines look like animals! May rethink this. they ARE fun to draw, though!!

                
  

SKY TACO... For those who wish to have their TACO and eat it too!!

When they are first commissioned to the public, the Drones don't have too much in the way of defense, Save a witty pre programmed evasion tactic or two. But when retaliation against them becomes a more problematic, the Company decides to equip them with electric STUN GUNS and TASERS. Soon, oppositon is answered back in the form of a 60,000 volt  shock!!

ROUGH SCOOTER CONCEPTS





The main form of transportation for delivery among the lead and his friends, will be modified scooters. I want to soup them up and give them a sci fi or fantastic element in the behavior of the vehicles, but I'm just drawing them kinda plain here. As I develop the look of everything, I will be sure to have the scooters become just as much a star as the Drones.


There will be a moment in the story, where the makers of the drones will be challenged to a form of race against the delivery guys. It's a moment that's being fleshed out for a conclusion to the first story, and prelude to the craziness that will follow.
